'Goats on the Roof' Tea Room

After what has been a very challenging build, coping with bad weather and a very interesting architectural design that featured a grass roof with large cantilevered overhangs, it took all our experience in log building and roof design to pull this one off but I think you will agree the results are fantastic. The tea room is now open for business with visits from the local press, plus the BBC featured this building on there regional news.

Here is the start of a 21m x 12m log building that will be used as a pavilion and youth centre in Hertfordshire. This build is expected to take Finlog 8 weeks, the recent rains have slowed progress but we still expect to finish on time.

This is the finished article.

This is a recent installation Finlog carried out in Northamptonshire.
The photo shows the rafters in between which we can put up to 200mm of insulation.
This building was constructed using our 88mm laminated log from Northern Russia.

The four mobile buildings shown were completed on time in January this year. Now the landscaping is complete, the client has started letting them to an enthusiastic clientele.

Three of the Finlog buildings boast two bedrooms with one ensuite, a utility/drying room and a roomy kitchen/lounge.

As you can see there is a generous covered balcony to take in the views.

The design of these cabins was the clients own work. The interiors were finished to a very high standard with one cabin being accessible for the disabled.

On the banks of the River Thames, Finlog constructed this custom made 17.5m mobile home for Mr & Mrs Webb. Made from the Finlog 88mm laminated log this building had to comply to BS3632 and also pass the strict spread of flame building regulation.

We recently constructed a 'Finlog' cabin for a customer in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. He will be using the cabin as an entertainment building. The cabin was built using 88mm Laminated log.

We have now started to construct a log building for Orkney Wine in Orkney.

We have been incredibly lucky with the weather and the guys on-site seem to like it so much up there I'm not sure they will be in too much of a hurry to come home. Orkney Wine have there own website selling a selection of wines and liqueurs http://www.orkneywine.co.uk/ The building itself is made from 135mm laminated log that has been designed to put up with the extreme weather conditions this part of the world encounters.

This log cabin was designed and constructed to house a hot tub. The doors and windows at the front were designed to give an open feeling on those hot sunny days.

This log cabin was designed and constructed as an Art Sudio for a couple in Welwyn Garden City. The cabin was constructed using a 70mm log with fully insulated roof.

Finlog carried out the work on the concrete base as well as constructing the cabin.

Finlog Mobile Log Cabin displayed at Blair Castle Show, Scotland

The view of one of our truly transportable log cabins being transported into place at the Blair Castle Show in Scotland. The log cabin was transported from our Carlisle office on the back of a transporter to the Blair Castle show site, it was then unloaded and towed into position by a 4x4.

The show cabin is made of 88mm laminated log and was constructed onto a metal chassis.

It was an excellent show and much interest was shown in our log cabin range.

This is the view from on of Finlog's constructed log cabins. We constructed a round log barn to house the tractor and other equipment, a Lodge that overlooks the lake (as in picture) and two Hides that are set amongst tree's in which to watch the wildlife from. The log cabins were constructed in the Grimsby area to our customers own specification. These particular cabins have the conventional tiled roof and not our supplied roof.
